I refer to the comment, “What’s in the price of that air ticket?” (May 29). I believe that it is natural for airlines to pass on any increase in cost to customers. Here are some thoughts that airlines may want to consider when pricing their tickets:
- Passengers who are above the national average weight should
be made to pay more.
- Most passengers do not consume liquor, beer or spirits. So, airlines should stop offering such drinks free — those who want them should be made to pay for them. The airlines will be able to save money by cutting back on the booze given out and also by reducing the load they would be carrying. They are likely to have less problems with drunk passengers.
- Passengers should be charged for meals and beverages, and they should indicate in advance their preference so that airlines don’t have to carry extras. These savings could be passed on to the passengers.

I half agree with the first point. Not going to go into details why half agree. I don’t agree with the second point. If my journey is a long journey, how? Beer, liquor are expensive (to me). And we can’t bring in our own water in. And plain water is cheaper than other drinks. If want to charge plain water, give two cups of plain water free. The next order will be charged. That would be better.
