Tried mobile plurking. It gave me the error 400 again. I did not try to click ‘retry’ and it still plurk double. *Duh* Is it my phone or is it mobile mobile plurking not user friendly?
Read the new issue of 8 Days. Reading First Person section cracks me up. This week, Jason is talking about going to restaurants. Here are what I find it funny.
“They’re charging SGD 8.00 for a lousy bottle of fizzy water!” I said as I flipped through the beverages list. “Before all the freaking plus-plus-pluses!”
“I’m seriously considering walking out of this restaurant,” Amanda said. “I’d be less angry at Chomp Chomp”
By the time the waiter came back to take our orders, we’d worked ourselves up into a state of grizzled distemper. While I ordered, Saffy sipped her tap water sullenly.
Suddenly, she piped up, “Hang on. Is this NEWater?”
I turned away from the waiter to look at her. Then at her glass of water.
“You think?” Amanda whispered, looking thoroughly mortified.
“Doesn’t that only come in a bottle?” I asked, doing absolutely no credit to my supposed profession as an investigative journalist.
“And not tap water?” Saffy persisted. “Are you sure?”
Amanda delicately push her glass away and looked up at the waiter. “I’d like a Diet Coke, please.”
“Make that two,” Saffy said.
“No, three,” I said.
When I told Karl, he rolled his eyes. “You guys are just being ridiculous! NEWater is purified water and totally clean!”
The whole thing just annoys me no end, because now I don’t know what to drink at a restaurant. Or at home. Amanda says she’s signing us up for regular shipments of mineral water. Saffy’s all for getting buckets to collect rainwater.
Collecting rainwater to drink? Isn’t it dirty? Without purifying it?
